Dear Parents & Carers,
This has been a term like no other and many of you will be very used to seeing me in my fancy accessorised face shield with a can of antibacterial spray in my hand most of the time! I have put in place many measures to make my business COVID-secure: smaller group sizes, personal equipment packs, sanitising all kit between each class, wiping down all touched surfaces, social distancing, face coverings, detailed risk assessments and amended lesson plans to name but a few.
I have been bowled over by all of your support and how you have embraced the new class rules and guidelines. Thank you so much.
It is with a heavy heart, therefore, that I have made the decision to not run classes over the next 4 weeks (planned restart on Friday 4th December). In the previous tiered government system, we would have been able to run as a COVID-secure education provider all the way up to tier 3. However, as of tomorrow, we are entering a ‘tier 4’ lockdown. Government guidance since the announcement on Saturday is still open to interpretation. However, I feel that I have a moral obligation to cease at this time. Your, my, and our families’ safety is the most important thing and we must be working together staying at home to protect the NHS.
I will be in touch towards the end of term regarding whether you wish your lost classes to be taken over to next term or if you would like a refund.
See you at the other end… Keep practicing and above all keep safe!
Caroline
